Bulk Items

Residents are allowed to discard one (1) bulky item along with their trash each week after making the necessary arrangements by calling EL Harvey.  Bulky items may include such items as furniture, carpet, windows, doors, and other household items.  No refrigerators, freezers, air conditions, or dehumidifiers are accepted.  Items may be no more than fifty (50) pounds and require no more than one collection personnel to be lifted.

No bulk waste items will be accepted at the Recycling Center.  No refrigerators, freezers, air conditions, or dehumidifiers are accepted.

The Town offers Electronic Waste Drop-off at the Recycling Center at EL Harvey.  There is a nominal charge as follows:
PC Monitors $10.00
PC CPUs $5.00
TVs up to 20" $5.00
TVs larger than 20" and up to 32" $10.00
TVs larger than 32" $20.00
Household Electronics $5.00
Portable Electronics $1.00

White Metal Collection

Last Saturday of every month
66 Fruit Street
7 am - 12 pm

No refrigerators, freezers, A/C's or dehumidifiers are accepted

Residents are reminded that the last Saturday of each month we accept the disposal of white metals; stoves, washers, water heaters, microwaves, etc at the Highway Department location at 66 Fruit Street.  Residents should remember that this does NOT include air conditioners, refrigerators, or freezers due to the Federal EPA regulation #40 CFR part 261 Section 261.4(B)(12) regulating releases of Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).

*Please do not drop off any accepted or non-accepted items at the Fruit St Garage any day other than the last Saturday of the month. The property is under video surveillance and The Hopkinton Police Department watches for illegal dumping and will ticket accordingly.

Computer monitors, TVs, and electronics are not accepted here but can be brought to the recycling center on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Leaf and Brush Drop-Off

Leaves, Brush (no larger than 6" diameter), Grass Clipping and Christmas Trees will be collected at the Hopkinton Recycling Center at EL Harvey, 394 Wood Street (Route 135), from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, SATURDAYS ONLY. Mattress & Textile Recycling

Effective November 1, 2022, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) banned textiles and mattresses from disposal or transport for disposal in Massachusetts.  Mattresses and textiles can no longer be discarded with regular or bulk trash.  They can be recycled at several locations in your area.  More information is provided at the links below:
